The Mini Research Paper
You will conduct a little bit of research on a topic that is inspired by The Brave New World. Remember that research papers are meant to convey information; they do not necessarily present an argument. You should approach this assignment with curiosity about your topic. You should pick something that truly interests you so that you will enjoy the process of learning more about it. Here are the requirements:
1. It must be 3-5 pages long.
2. It must be in MLA format. There are many internet helps on how to put this together.
3. You must use at least three different sources for your information.
4. You must include a Works Cited page.
5. Your paper must include direct quotes, properly cited, from your sources.
DO NOT COPY AND PASTE FROM YOUR SOURCES!!!!! THIS IS PLAGIARISM!!! YOU WILL BE GIVEN A ZERO EVEN IF YOU TRY TO COPY AND PASTE A SMALL PORTION. THIS WILL PUT YOUR GRADUATION IN JEOPARDY. JUST DON'T EVEN ATTEMPT TO GET AWAY WITH IT. THAT IS A HUGE GAMBLE.

READ THIS!! VERY, VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!
When you get back from Spring Break, you must have a first draft to show me. You will get a grade for having a first draft of your paper ready to show me on Monday. To get credit for your first draft, you must have at least two full pages already written. You must also have a Works Cited page with your three sources. It must be typed up in MLA format. The grade that you get for your first draft will be 1/3 of your final score for the final paper. DO NOT IGNORE THIS!!! THAT IS A TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE strategy. We are close to the end of the year. If you don't walk in on Monday with a first draft, you might not be able to recover enough to save your grade for the semester. Don't mess around with this one.
