Grading Policies -- The Understandings
Performance Tasks (Essays, Presentations, Projects) 40%
Assessments (Formal and Informal) 25%
Homework/Classwork 20%
Hot Seat Presentations 15%
Late Work Performance Tasks -- Each performance task has a FIRM due date. If you miss the due date, you must 1. Provide documentation to Mrs. B to excuse your absence; and 2. Attend an entire Saturday School before you will be allowed to submit the work. Assessments -- Tests and quizzes can only be made up with an excused absence. Homework/Classwork -- You may turn in these assignments late, but they will be graded at my leisure. They go to the bottom of the grading pile. Hot Seat Presentations - Second semester we will have almost daily end-of-class presentations. If your name is drawn and you are absent, you get a zero that can't be made up. |
Late Work for Performance Tasks Essays -- These must be turned in by 3:30 on the due date. If you turn in the essay on time, you may rewrite the assignment later to improve your score. If you miss the due date, you must attend Saturday School before you can turn in the late assignment. You miss the opportunity to rewrite the assignment. Presentations -- You must be present when your group is called to present. If you are absent when your group is called, you will get a zero for the presentation regardless of the work you have contributed. You must attend Saturday School if you want to make up your part of the presentation. Projects -- These must be turned in on the due date during your period only. If you miss the due date, you must attend Saturday School before you can submit the late work. |
